2026 Island Training Seminar
Island Training Seminar – Sept. 11-13, 2026 - General Information
Attendance by donation to Gabriola Island Kyokushin Karate ($50 per person suggested)
Gabriola island is located a short ferry ride away from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island or a quick float plane trip with Gulf Islands Seaplanes direct from YVR
or Downtown Vancouver to Silva Bay.
Harbour Air also has a float plane service, from Downtown Vancouver or from YVR to Downtown Nanaimo. You can also get normal flights directly to Nanaimo Airport which is a ways south of town.
2 ferry options from the Lower Mainland to Nanaimo:
Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay (Bookings Required)
Tsawwassen to Duke Point
Gabriola pick-ups available from ferry or float plane -just let us know beforehand.
Friday meet and greet - 6.30 pm 2822 McDonald Road – (After Friday Night Fighting and Fitness session – 5.00 pm -Seawood Dojo - all welcome),
The seminar Dojo is Gabriola Island Community Hall and is located towards the south end of the island at 2200 South Road

Saturday potluck dinner (Theme: Australia) - Location to be decided. 6.30 pm– 9.00 pm. Don’t worry if you are from off island and aren’t able to bring any food - we’ll have extra.
