First signed up for karate with her family in 2001, in Okanagan Falls Dojo, training with Sempai Eddy Deuschle & Dean Gemmell.
Dojo moved to Penticton to consolidate his Naramata & OK Falls dojo together, in 2004. Now trains in Penticton, with Sempai Brent Parker & Darryl Hayter since 2010.
Enjoys helping with kids class & working with the adult class when required. She has attended Winter Camps in Silver Lake, & Summer Camps in Ashton Creek, Black Belt Camp in Armstrong as well. Enjoys training with Sensei Larry in his dojo when able to make his classes.
Recently attained certification for Associate Judge, & has participated in the South Okanagan Tournament April 21st. Hopes to attain her Shodan level in the future.
Penticton Westside Kyokushin Karate Club first opened the doors in September 2001.
Over the years the club has been in several locations, and from 2005 - 2010 the school was located at KVR Middle School, where we trained out of the activity room.
In September of 2010, the opportunity arose to move to the gymnasium at Queen’s Park Elementary School.
In 2011 I became the sole Kyokushin Karate school in town. Thus I removed the Westside from my name and now am the Penticton Kyokushin Karate Club.
I see a very bright future for martial arts training in our city.
