The Keremeos dojo has a long and scattered history, starting in the 80’s and operating between Cawston and Keremeos under different instructors. Lyle Zimmerman officially took over the club in 2001 from Michel Paquette where it had been operating in Cawston. In 2005 the dojo moved back to Keremeos. where we presently train.
Dojo Operator
Lyle Zimmerman has been practicing Kyokushin ton over 25 years. His first training was the opening class of the Penticton dab (the first Kyokushin Club to operate in the South Okanagan), in 1984 at the age of 24 he originally trained under Sempai Ralner Udala and Sempai Daryl Hayter, and later under Sempai Terry Shivas and Sempal Brent Parker. He moved to Princeton in 1996 end opened a dojo that operated there for 8 years, until relocating the dojo to Cawston, and then to Keremeos.

Lyle Zimmerman is now In his 50’s, he still enjoys training the Kyokushin way-operating the Keremeos dojo, and attends Kyokushin events to: train, coach, judge, and referee tournaments. He looks forward to training many more years of Kyokushin. OSU.
