History of the Dojo
|
|
Okanagan Falls dojo was formed in 1998 through an introductory program,
and has really taken off! Despite being a small community, the karate-ka
of this dojo are an enthusiastic bunch who train hard. Occasional outdoor
training in all seasons and in all conditions make for fun and challanging workouts!
We run our Seniors program upstairs in the church, and simultaneously the intermediate
and beginners classes downstairs. This allows entire families to be able to train
at the same time!!! All are invited to our annual south okanagan kyokushin karate
tournament held every fall!

Profile of Black Belt Members
|
|
Ed Deuschle - Head Instructor :
|
|
Eddy Deuschle is the head instructor of the OK Falls and Naramata dojos.
He has trained in Kyokushin Karate for 11 years, and holds the rank of
Shodan. As well, Eddy has trained for 8 years in the art of Judo, competing
in many tournaments. Kyokushin highlights include training at the 1998
Hawaiian Kyokushin Seminar with Kancho Matsui, and Shihan Bobby Lowe.
Eddy has the privilage of training under Shihan Stuart Corrigal at the
various C.K.K.O. functions.
Eddy loves to train with the students of OK Falls and Naramata dojos,
and describes them as "Awesome!" He continues to strive to help them improve
physically and mentally, and finds it very gratifying to see them all making
such dramatic improvements.
His goals are to become the "best kid's instructor" in Canada! Eddy Deuschle
and Mike Riplinger of Oliver dojo organize the South Okanagan Kyokushin Karate
tournament held every fall in the Okanagan Valley. Eddy feels that teaching is
a privilage and honor, for there is only one thing greater than studying Kyokushin...
and that is sharing it with others! Eddy is happliy married to Lori, and has 2 daughters,
and a fuzzy dawg named Jake!
