Started training in Kyokushin in 1999. Rene has attended, organized and hosted ( Along with Terri on their personal property), many of the Young Lions Camps that our dojo has put on as well as overseen the organization and operation of the junior tournaments. He has also had the fortune of visiting Japan and training at Honbu, as well as train with many high ranking Kyokushin practitioners.
Started training in Kyokushin in 1999. Coles presence and fighting ability has aided in the development of many students kumite. Cole has had the fortune of training in Japan at Honbu and competed in the Mas Oyama World IKO tournament in Japan as well as several Western Canadian tournaments.
Started training Kyokushin karate in 1996. Out of all students in the Dawson Creek dojo today, Bob has trained the longest. Over the years Bob has aided the dojo and has attended many camps, seminars and junior tournaments. With a loud OSU ! hard training and perseverance he motivates and inspires all around him to try their best and always push harder.
Started training in Kyokushin in 1998. Terri has attended, organized and hosted (Along with Rene on their personal property), many of the Young Lions Camps that our dojo has put on as well as overseen the organization and operation of the junior tournaments. Terri has participated in many camps and seminars over the years and offers a diligent and steadfast work ethic to the dojo.
Dojo was originally opened in 1995 under the umbrella of the IKO3 - Matsushima group. - Matsushima group. Later the Dojo transferred out of the IKO3 and joined with the IKO Sosai group under the mentorship of Shihan Thomas A Flynn (Green Mountain Dojo - Vermont). In January 2012 Dawson Creek Dojo was accepted into the International Karate Organization Kaikan Canada
Mark Fonda, Shodan - Mark began training in Kyokushin Karate in Dawson Creek in 2001. He also trained for several years in Oyama Karate and Kanreikai Karate. He was successfully graded to Shodan, by Shihan Thomas A Flynn, in 2011 and is currently the Dojo Director at the Dawson Creek dojo. Mark is an Alberta Open tournament Champion in Open Class Kata and Kumite.
