Code Of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

(Revised October 2007)

All members of the IKOK-C will:

a) Other than in instances where the unavoidable need to defend oneself or others against the immediate threat of physical harm arises:

i) Refrain from physical violence.

ii) Refrain from threatening or intimidating others by means of verbal or physical violence.

iii) Refrain from conduct that would cause a reasonable person to fear any form of violence, intimidation or harm.

b) Conduct themselves in and outside the dojo in a manner that does not reflect negatively on the IKO, the IKOK-C or Kyokushin Karate.

c) Remain mindful of their positions of authority and responsibility.

d) Comport themselves in a manner consistent with the authority and responsibility invested in them by the IKOK-C and the IKO.

e) Display in and outside the dojo a level of maturity, discipline and respect towards others consistent with the authority and responsibility invested in them by the IKOK-C and the IKO.

f) Remain mindful of the power imbalances inherent in the kohai/sempai relationship, and therefore refrain from utilizing their seniority to in any way exploit or manipulate their kohai.
