Class Schedule
The Burnaby Dojo began by sharing time at Clinch MMA on Kingsway in Burnaby with 3 classes a week. By 2010 Scott pursued a vision to open up his own club where Kyokushin Karate would be a dominant martial art taught in the school. Budo Martial Arts opened Jan 2011. When you step into Budo there is an immediate sense of pride, passion and comfort. The school is fully equiped to teach Kyokushin Karate.
Scott began Kyokushin Karate at the age of 9 under Shihan Guy Saulter in Campbellton, New Brunswick, where he was raised, and competed regularly as a youth. Scott left the East Coast and moved to Vancouver where he joined Shihan Stuart Corrigal, the Canadian Branch Chief of the International Organization Kyokushinkaikan Canada. As a Brown and Black belt he competed locally as a fighter. Scott was promoted to Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) in August 2010.
Scott is completely dedicated to the Martial Arts and is constantly learning and testing new techniques for practical effectiveness to ensure students learn realistic self-defense methods.
Besides Kyokushin Karate Scott is studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thay, Boxing , Wrestling, Kick Boxing and is actively competing.
Scott has a great passion for coaching his students and loves seeing them succeed and overcome barriers. He holds certification for First Aid/CPR and NCCP Coaching.
Scott enjoys and highly respects the traditional values of Mas Oyama’s karate and teaches under these conditions. He believes that an instructor's teaching skills are as important as his Martial Art’s skill
